16 October 2025 - Trent Refractories Attending UNITECR 2025 In Mexico

Trent Refractories CEO Katy Moss will be in attendance at the 19th Unified International Technical Conference on Refractories (UNITECR) taking place October 27–30, 2025, at the JW Marriott Cancun Resort & Spa in Cancún, Mexico. UNITECR 2025. Organised by the Latin American Association of Refractories Manufacturers (ALAFAR), UNITECR is a biennial gathering of researchers, engineers, manufacturers, and end-users in the global refractories community.

Theme & Strategic Focus
The official theme for 2025 is “Sustainability Meets Intelligence – Shaping the Future of Refractories.” The aim is to bring together two major drivers in the industry:

• Sustainability: addressing environmental responsibility, circular economy approaches (recycling, waste minimisation, material reuse), energy efficiency, emissions control.
• Intelligence / Digitalisation: leveraging data, AI, machine learning, predictive modeling, smart monitoring, and other digital tools to optimise refractory performance across the full life cycle (from raw materials, processing, installation, operation to end-of-life).

By weaving these threads, UNITECR 2025 aims to address both the challenges and opportunities of modern refractories: how to make them greener, smarter, longer lasting, more cost-effective, and more integrated with industrial systems.
